manor is the estate of any lord who may conduct a feudal court, but typically is used to refer to the smallest designation of feudal court and settlement in Valyria. A manor most often describes the estate of an esquire, knight, or baronet, especially when sized below 25 parcels. Manorial courts typically serve local subinfeudated coloni such as socagers and tenants by serjeanty, who are expected to form a personal retinue for their landord when called to war. Manorial courts maintain custumals to record their coloni and the arrangements they have with the manor, and may also employ yeomenn such as reeves, clerks, and pursuivants.
