Royal Assent

Royal Assent is one of the privileges falling under Royal Prerogative. It refers to the process by which any Parliamentary Acts must be approved of by the King before the Lord Chancellor ratifies it by passing it under the Great Seal of Valyria. This is usually a symbolic and assumed gesture, as the mere appointment of the Lord Chancellor to conduct the business of Parliament is already an implied form of Assent. When the King denies the granting of Assent, it is called royal veto.

Royal Assent is discussed in the eighth section of the Great Charter of Valyria[1]
